A famous man, Martin Luther King Jr., once said, “I have a dream”. Others have gone on to sing about dreams; ‘California Dreamin” – The Mamas and the Papas, “Enter Sandman” – Metallica, “Imagine” – John Lennon. Your challenge this week is ‘Dream’.
You can be as creative or literal as you like, as this theme is open to all sorts of interpretations. But please keep it fun and lighthearted. This is a photography challenge. It’s not about delving into your unconscious, neuroscience, or anything spiritual.
When you think of ‘Dream’ is it what you do at night when you are asleep, or is it a goal or an achievement, or just simply make believe. Perhaps it is a fantasy of owning that Lamborghini sports car. If you’re lucky enough to be in the right place this week, maybe you can go to a dealership and photograph that dream car or yacht etc.
Maybe ‘Dream' conjures up scenarios such as ‘walking on water’, ‘castles in the air’, ‘stargazing’, or ‘searching for the pot of gold’, ‘a pie in the sky’, or maybe ‘pigs really can fly’.
These ideas would be ideal for those interested in doing double exposures, or combining, blending and compositing multiple images.
Dream could also be that sweet, kind person, your dream person.
When doing this challenge, don’t rush it, Think about what you are doing and take time to consider composition and lighting so you can present your picture in the best way possible.
Now go and use your imagination and dare to dream a little and show us your ‘Dream’. Remember to enjoy yourself and have fun this week. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
